Here again with another room refresh…surprise, surprise! We’ve been in our home for 4 years and I’ve changed a lot of things – it’s just something I enjoy doing! One thing I haven’t changed much is the wall color. We’ve painted 2 of the kids’ rooms and that’s it. With the start of the new year, I was itching to make some changes in the form of paint. Luckily for me, my mom loves to paint and loves to have a project to work on, so she has offered to do the manual labor for me! Anytime I’m considering changing out furniture or re-designing a room, I make a collage in Canva so that I can visualize everything together. It’s great to be able to swap different things in and out until I find a design that I love!
Here’s what it looks like right now:
Desk (no longer sold – similar linked here) // Rug // Chair // Mirror // Acrylic Tray (similar option) // Faux Tree // Light Fixture (no longer sold – similar linked here)
It’s beautiful! I don’t dislike anything in it, but I just feel the need for a little change to freshen it up!
Here’s a rendering of what I’m thinking to update it:
Chairs // Rug // Desk (no longer sold – similar linked here) // Desk Chair // Sideboard // Shelf // Art Lights // Faux Tree // Canvas Art // Art Prints // Light Fixture (no longer sold – similar linked here)
I love the idea of a moody paint color, so I chose Benjamin Moore Rainy Afternoon. The plan right now is to paint everything – walls, ceiling, trim. We will do it in stages to make sure that it’s coming together how I pictured, but I’m so excited to see it done! My desk, chair, big canvas wall art, and olive tree will stay – I love them all! I ordered this beautiful sideboard because I found myself needing a bit more storage in here than what I had before. I also ordered some art prints from Amazon to do a symmetrical gallery wall above the sideboard. I haven’t quite figured out how I want to arrange the furniture yet, so I’ll play around with it a bit once I’m moving everything back in after paint.
I’m excited to see how my plan comes to life and what (if any) changes I make for the final result! I will definitely share how it all comes together.
