Are you doing any hosting this holiday season? My parents will be with us over Christmas, so I’m already thinking ahead to the snacks, desserts, and meals that we will enjoy. It will be our first Christmas at home since Liam was born, so it’s a perfect year to start creating some Christmas traditions for our little family!
If you are planning on hosting and family or friends throughout the next month or so, I thought I’d share a few quick and easy appetizer ideas. One of my favorite ways to make people feel welcome in my home is setting out some food for them to enjoy! Even if you don’t particularly enjoy spending time cooking, these ideas are very simple.
I saw this caprese candy cane on Pinterest and knew I wanted to recreate it! It’s just layers of fresh mozzarella cheese and sliced tomato, then I sprinkled some fresh basil, a little salt, and some good olive oil over the top. You can serve it just like that or add some bread on the side. Start to finish, it took me about 10 minutes.
Another super easy appetizer that you can have on-hand is cream cheese and pepper jelly. Just put a block of cream cheese on a plate, spoon some red pepper jelly (sweet or hot) over the top, and serve with crackers. It’s basic, but so yummy!
If you want to take it up a notch, serve your appetizers with some festive napkins and plates. Just 20 minutes preparing can allow you to create a simple and beautiful spread for your guests to enjoy!
