Since I originally shared my homemade guacamole recipe in 2015, I’ve made a few tweaks! The base is still the same, but I’ve added a couple things for a little extra flavor. Don’t get me wrong, the original recipe I shared is very good, but guacamole is a bit of a personal preference! Some like it simple, some like it more complex. Some prefer chunky, while others like it very smooth. You can really customize it to your taste and texture preferences, but this is how I like to make it.
Homemade Guacamole
3 ripe avocados, mashed (not completely smooth – I like a little bit of chunkiness to it)
2 roma tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup red onion, diced
1 jalapeño, diced (leave as many seeds as you want to heat preference)
1/2 cup salsa
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1/2 a lime, juiced
salt, to taste (I prefer kosher)
Mix all the ingredients together and serve with chips!
Hello! After seeing you post this recipe several times, I gave it a go last night. Hands down the very BEST guacamole I have ever made! I will never again buy store bought guacamole. Thank you!
So glad to hear that!!
Can’t wait to try out your recipe!
