It’s no secret that I change up the decor and furniture in our home quite a bit. I’ve always been that way. From rearranging my bedroom as a kid to moving furniture and decorative pieces around in different rooms now, it’s just who I am! I love that the simple act of repurposing a piece of furniture in a different space can create a whole new look and feel to a room. Before you spend a dollar at a store, you should first see if you can just move a few things around to create the change that you’re looking for!
When I do decide to add a larger piece of furniture to an area, it’s always will the expectation that I’ll create a whole vignette around it. Styling a piece, like this cabinet, with a lamp, mirror, and a couple decorative pieces creates an entire “moment”, versus just pushing the cabinet onto this wall and hoping for the best. I had this blank wall in one of our bedrooms that is serving as a multi-purpose room. I have a storage shelf, my exercise bike, and a standing mirror in it. By adding an intentional area that is both decorative and functional, it gave more purpose to the room. This cabinet works great for storing out-of-season clothes and accessories, giveaway products, and more.
I styled this space by shopping Joss & Main’s Fall Edit. They have some stunning pieces that can really elevate your home! You can browse lighting & rugs, wall & decor, accent furniture, and furniture. Here’s what I used to create this area: 2-door accent cabinet, wood side chair, rustic vase, accent mirror, and table lamp. I love how it turned out! Even more, I love all of these pieces individually, so I know that I’ll get a lot of use out of them as I move them around and re-style things.
