While I still stand pretty firmly on not kid-proofing my entire house, there are a few things that I knew we would remove or swap out once Liam became mobile. The little decorative trinkets and breakables have been moved out of reach, baby gates have been put in place on the stairs, and my beloved coffee table ottoman (that was just asking to get in a fight with an eye) has found a new home in our bedroom. I was sad to see the ottoman removed from our living room because it fit so perfectly in there, but I love how much extra space we’ve gotten with adding this kid-friendly ottoman. I also love that I don’t have to spend a single second worrying about it. Until, of course, Liam is big enough to climb on top of it, haha!
While the kid-friendly aspect of this ottoman sold me, I also try to think of longevity and versatility when purchasing new furniture. What I like about this piece is that it can definitely transition into other spaces. It would work well in a playroom for the same purpose. It would be fun in a primary bedroom closet, too! It could also work well in an office or guest bedroom. There are a lot of different places I could imagine moving this to, should I find that we want to repurpose it in the future.
I found it to be a little bit of a task to find a kid-friendly ottoman/coffee table option that fit into my style. In case you’re in a similar season of life or have been looking to make a change to your living space, here are some other coffee tables that I love:
