It’s right around this time every year that I start itching for the fall season to arrive. I love fall. It’s my favorite season, hands down, without a doubt. From the weather to the activities, to the clothing…it’s just the best. We’ve got a fair amount of time before it cools down in Raleigh, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t start transitioning my wardrobe color palette over to fall soon! My fall wardrobe is usually pretty neutral, with lots more black than my summer wardrobe. The thing that I love most about fall is layers. I feel like I get the most use out of my clothing in the fall because there are so many combinations of things I can put together to create different outfits.
Here’s a look at my fall wardrobe staples:
Lace-Trim Cami | Basic Tee | Striped Top | Button-Down Shirt | Destructed Denim | Camel Sweater | Faux Leather Moto Jacket | Black Jeans | Casual Tote | Dressy Handbag | Printed Mules | White Sneakers | Heeled Booties
You may have most, if not all, of these items (or similar) in your closet already! So many different combinations can be made, from casual outfits to dressed up. Here’s a look at a few ways to style them!
A lace-trim cami is an underrated closet item, in my opinion. I love that it can be dressed up with black jeans and heeled booties, or more casual with ripped jeans and some mules or sneakers.
A basic tee is great in every season, but especially fall. It lends itself so well to layering, which is what I’m here for. Dressed up or down, you can’t go wrong with having a basic tee as your base layering piece.
A button-down shirt may not be for everyone, but I’d like to make a case for them! They’re great for styling multiple ways. Dress it up with some jeans and heeled booties, a bold lip, and some layered gold jewelry. Dress it down with sneakers, jeans, and a messy bun for an effortless look. I don’t wear collared shirts all that often, but I always feel very pulled together when I do!
Another staple item that works in every season, but especially in the fall! I feel like a striped top is great with everything. You can pair one with leggings and a denim jacket, jeans and a moto jacket, black jeans and a sweater blazer…you name it!
