Have you ever been traveling (or maybe just have company in town) and your schedule is back-to-back with barely a minute to rest between activities? For situations like that, I love to have a few “one outfit, two ways” options in my back pocket for a quick change before dinner or another activity. Outfits like this usually consist of pretty basic staples, like a mock neck sweater and denim, which can then be remixed depending on the time of day or the activity with some accessories. Swapping comfortable walking shoes for a heel, changing out your simple stud earrings for more of a statement, and maybe pulling your hair back into a low bun or half-up style can instantly change the look and feel of the outfit you were already wearing!

If we’re going on a trip and packing space is limited, I’ll think through a few of these options while packing, to make sure that I can maximize space without minimizing options. Coming up with different ways of styling the same base pieces will also help you to utilize the pieces in your closet that you already own, which is great!
If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut with how you style a piece/outfit in your closet, or just want to bring less with you when traveling, I recommend trying to come up with a few of these combinations. You might be surprised by the difference a few little changes can make!
This is all well and good but would you *actually* change your handbag?
If the occasion called for it, yep! I change up my handbag very regularly, depending on what I’m wearing, what I need to carry with me, and where I’m going.
If this is something you’d wear to travel, would you wear the sweater more than once? Asking because I read somewhere that you really only have to wash things like that after 2-3 wears, but in my head, once it touches my armpits (especially now that I use natural deodorant, which allows me to sweat), it’s dirty and can’t be reworn. However, I prefer to pack as lightly as possible, so the thought of being able, to wear an item more than once is appealing. Thoughts?
I wear most tops/sweaters more than once before washing, barring that I haven’t sweat in or soiled it in any way! So, yes, I’d definitely wear it more than once on a trip. You could always spot wash the armpits in the sink, if you want to wear it again 🙂
