My Favorite Way to Unwind & A Beauty Sale

I’m sure you’ve heard the term, “self-care” by now, as it’s one of those buzzwords floating around social media. In its simplest form, it’s any activity that you choose to do in order to take care of yourself mentally, physically, and/or emotionally. It can be something as uncomplicated as setting aside 30 minutes a few nights a week to read a novel, to finally going to see that therapist to work through something in your life. At the core, it’s something that brings you joy and reduces your anxiety. My favorite way to unwind at the end of a long day or before starting a new week is to do a little at-home spa night. Sometimes it’s taking extra time on my manicure, using a cuticle oil, and doing all the steps they’d do at the salon. A lot of times, it’s focusing on my skincare routine and really giving my face a little TLC.

One of my favorite skincare brands, Colleen Rothschild, is my go-to for an evening like this. While I use the cleansing balm regularly to cleanse my face at night (it’s the best!), I use other brands in my regular morning/evening routine, as well. What I love about the Colleen Rothschild products I’ve tried and use is that they’re luxurious and made with ingredients that work well for my skin, but they also work for my skin. Not just that they don’t break me out, but they actually cleanse, moisturize, reduce visible lines, etc. So when I’m feeling like really treating myself and my skin, I’ll do a full routine with my favorite products.

It always starts with the cleansing balm, which melts all my makeup off and leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth. I’ll then use the Matcha Tea Toner (not something I use in my everyday routine) to absorb any excess oil and really detox my skin. I may spot treat with Vitamin C Treatment Complex on dark spots or move right on to moisturizing with Extreme Recovery Cream, which is my go-to for dryness in the winter months. I’ll finish around my eyes with the Complete Eye Cream. If it’s a hair-washing night, I’ll do a hair mask, as well!

Some nights I’ll opt for a different routine, but you get the idea. Most nights I do a quick 2-3 step skincare routine, which is working for my skin, but I love to indulge in a more lengthy, complete routine to treat both my skin and myself to a little pampering regularly. While it’s an investment up front to find the products that work well for your skin and narrow down a routine that you like, it’s a great little thing to have in your back pocket for that stressful day or when you just need to be alone and do something for yourself for 20 minutes. Whatever that may look like, I encourage you to find something that you like to do and implement it into your life! It’s so important to take care of yourself and give yourself a break regularly.

If you’re interested in trying any of the Colleen Rothschild products, you’re in great luck because they’re currently running a friends & family sale, offering 25% off everything! The code to use is FALL25 and you can get all of the products I shared in my routine on sale. If there’s just one or two things you’d like to try, I would say absolutely get the Cleansing Balm and then either the Extreme Recovery Cream (especially if you’re prone to dry skin in the winter or any time of year) or the Vitamin C Treatment Complex, if you have skin concerns that it would address. I’ve noticed a reduction in my hyperpigmentation since using it, so it actually does what it says it will do!

Can you share about washing your hair at night? Do you do a wash/blowout and then style it the next morning? I’m intrigued and seeking to shorten my morning routine. Thanks in advance πŸ™‚

Yes, if I’m curling my hair, 9 times out of ten, I wash and blow dry the night before, sleep with it in a very loose ponytail, and style in the AM.
