Spring weather is starting to arrive, which means I’m in spring-shopping mode. I have yet to go through my existing collection of warm weather clothes to see what holes I need to fill this year, but I have a feeling there will be a couple things I want to add! If you’ve started shopping already or haven’t, I thought it would be fun to do a little shopping guide. It includes my favorite things to wear in the spring, as well as some closet staples that I think every gal should have for this time of year!
TOPS
+ White Embroidered Top – I love a top like this in the spring and summer. They’re feminine, light, and pair really well with cut-off denim shorts, skinny jeans, or even white denim.
+ Feminine Cut Top – I love bringing in more feminine details, like ruffle hems, a lighter color palette, and peplum cuts.
+ Classic Tee – For pairing with shorts, white jeans or skinny blue jeans and wedges.
BOTTOMS
+ White Denim – I like a crisp white jean to pair with chambray tops or tops with color/pattern. I also love an all-white look, so these are great for that!
+ Distressed Shorts – An easy way to add a laidback feel to any outfit is with a little distressing.
DRESSES
+ Flowy with Detailing – A looser fit dress with fun detailing is great to pair with wedges and a neutral bag, or to quickly dress up slides and a messy bun.
+ Simple Tank Dress – This kind of dress is a staple item. Not necessarily the fit, but the idea. A simple, solid tee shirt type dress is super versatile and can be styled many different ways.
OUTWEAR
+ Long Cardigan – Dusters don’t work for everyone (they can be overwhelming on shorter women), but a longer cardigan is something that everyone can wear. You just have to find the right length for your body! I like this for over dresses, with shorts and camis, or with white denim and a tee.
+ Denim Jacket – A classic piece of outerwear for warmer climates. I have this more fitted one and this boyfriend-fit jacket.
SHOES
+ Neutral Mules – I love a mule because it feels light, but adds a little more structure to an outfit than a sandal.
+ Espadrilles – A great option to pair with anything – dresses, denim and tanks, shorts and tees, you name it!
ACCESSORIES
+ Simple Studs – I’m a stud earring girl, through and through. They’re fuss-free and go with everything!
+ Tassel Earrings – An easy way to add a little color or a fun texture to your overall look. Plus, the tassels just scream warm weather!
+ Beaded Bracelets – I’m not usually a huge bracelet wearer (since I’m often wearing my watch), but love beaded bracelets for layering this time of year.
+ Layering Necklaces – These certainly aren’t exclusive to the warm weather, but I love layered necklaces with a simple tee dress, or a feminine top and denim shorts.
+ Neutral Bag – I’ll admit, I’m a little bit of a bag hoarder, BUT they all serve a purpose. I think a smaller, neutral bag is a warm weather essential because it’s light and will tie in with the rest of your wardrobe. I love some with texture or extra detailing that lends itself to the season, too.
+ Tote in a Fun Color – A tote is a closet staple, so why not have one in a fun color? I tend towards pastels and lighter colors for something like this because I find that it can go with more of the things in my closet, versus a bright, bold color.
+ Sunglasses – An obvious pick, but I’m loving the oversized style that is popular right now.
