Somehow, someway we leave tomorrow for our London and Amsterdam trip! We’ve been looking forward to this trip since we booked it back in March, so we’re excited that it’s almost here! We have some activities planned and ideas of what we want to do, but we also built in a good amount of free time to just explore and stumble upon things. We had that kind of time in both Paris and Italy for our honeymoon last year and loved it! It was fun to just meander through the cities we were in and take everything in.
I’ve been checking the weather pretty regularly and am so pleased that it’s looking like it will be in the very low 70’s for our time in both places. I’m packing a good amount of layers, since I have a feeling it will be chilly in the mornings and evenings and warm in the afternoon. Knowing myself, I’m sticking to comfortable, easy pieces that I know I’ll want to wear. We don’t do many fancy restaurants or activities that would require us to dress up, so I won’t even bother packing anything like that.
As I’m starting to gather things to pack, I’m finding myself opting for all the stripes, neutrals, and comfortable things I can find. In my closet, that’s not too hard to do! Here’s a look at some of the things I’m bringing:
Yay! Enjoy your trip! Sounds like the weather is going to be perfect.
I love these type of travel prep posts, by the way. I usually go overseas to visit family in Italy once or twice a year, and each time I do I challenge myself to plan my wardrobe and pack better than the last time around. I've gotten pretty good at it (I feel like my last trip over the Christmas holiday was my best, packing and wardrobe-planning wise!) but I love seeing what other people pack for these types of trips. Thanks!
Yay! I'm so excited to follow along on your adventures! I'm in the midst of this pregnancy so I'm not really going anywhere right now… going to be living vicariously through you! I love what you've come up with to pack! I especially adore that gray denim hat. That's pretty perfect.
XOXO
Do you carry on? If so I would love to see what you pack for toiletries, I struggle every time. Thanks and enjoy your trip!
I just got back from Amsterdam and Beriln! If you're planning to do a good amount of museums/touristy things (like the canal cruise, which we did and loved!), I definitely recommend the I Amsterdam card- it offers free/reduced admission to most of the places worth visiting, and it gives you the chance to visit a few places you might not otherwise (I recommend the Rembrandt house tour!). Eat a million stroopwafels!
