I love finding new ways to wear items I already have in my closet. Not only does it mean that I get more use out of an item, but it allows me to use my creativity in my favorite way – creating something new! A lot of times when I buy something, whether it’s a pair of shoes, a jacket, or a sweater, I’m imaging how I’ll wear it before I even get it home. Some items are super versatile, like a jean jacket – it can be worn with nearly anything. Some items are less so, like a pair of over-the-knee boots.
For the versatile items in my closet, I like to have a casual option and more dressed up option on hand. Casual is my go-to, so that’s usually the way I’ll style it first. I wear a lot of athleisure outfits, so pairing a hooded sweatshirt with leggings and sneakers was easy to do. When I wanted to create a more put together option, I had to think outside the box of a “hoodie” a bit. Probably for most people, a hoodie is a super casual/lounge around/wear to the gym type of item. Most often, that’s how I wear mine. But, I like the idea of being able to pair more refined pieces with casual pieces, so adding in a pair of pointed-toe mules and some statement studs was a good balance. The best part about this look is that you can take off the sweatshirt to reveal a cute embroidered tee underneath!
Which way would you wear it: athleisure or dressed up?
ATHLEISURE
Aerie Street Hoodie | H&M Grey Tee | Alo High Waist Moto Leggings | Adidas Swift Run Sneakers | Sole Society Adden Crossbody Bag | Elisabeth Ashlie Travel Mug
DRESSED UP
Aerie Street Hoodie | BP. Embroidered Tee | Madewell 9-Inch Jeans | Target Velma Mules | Madewell Transport Tote | Mac Lipstick in Creme D’Nude | Elisabeth Ashlie Ariella Statement Studs
Great Idea, but I think I would defiantly be more likely to only wear a sweatshirt as Athleisure! 🙂
I love a good sweatshirt I can dress up a bit to look more put together but can also throw on with leggings for a complete relaxed look. This has definitely become my go to weekend look for errands and hanging out with my family. I like to be comfortable but cute more often than not since I work outside the home in a business environment during the week. I prefer more of a crew neck style and will pair with booties for more dressed up look or vans/converse for a more casual look, a cute necklace, and cute top or tank underneath and call it a day.
Hey Lauren,
We LOVE how you styled the sweatshirt in two different ways. Simple yet chic is a look that is sometimes difficult to accomplish, but with your help everyone can accomplish it! You are VERY right, versatile items are a must-have for every woman's closet! Both outfits you styled are super cute and definitely something we would wear!
XO,
HER.
