I’ve shared before that I wasn’t much of a lipstick wearer until recently. In fact, as with a lot of my makeup-related things, I used the same tinted lip balm for probably five years before ever branching out into other products. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit.
I’m happy to report that I’ve grown out of that entirely uninteresting phase of my life and have discovered the greatness of lipstick. I’m one of those people that has a deep-seated fear of having being somewhere and not having some type of moisturizing lip product on. So, while I don’t wear lipstick everyday, I’ve come to find that the one’s I do wear are moisturizing enough (for me) that I don’t really think about it.
Unlike my sister, I don’t really enjoy trying out new makeup products or trying to search for new products. When I find something that works, I stick with it. These lipsticks/products have become my go-to options, depending on what I’m looking for. They cover all the bases, too: a nude, a tinted balm, a bold color, and an everyday option.
First up is a classic nude. This exact color has been discontinued by Bite, but Meringue is the closest option that they currently have. I know that not everyone likes a nude lip, but I really do. I think it’s a great option when: I have bolder eye makeup than usual and don’t want to feel too overdone or when I’m going for a “no makeup” makeup look. I just picked up Mac’s Creme D’Nude shade a couple days ago and really like that one, too.
It can be difficult to find a nude lip that doesn’t make you look like a walking corpse. My tip is to find one that has an undertone of pink, or to mix it with another color (like a pink) when applying, so that it isn’t completely nude.
Next is a tinted lip balm. I love having a tinted lip balm option, especially in the summer. I’m usually more minimal with my everyday makeup in the summer, so it’s nice to add just a bit of color to my lips, without feeling overdone in a lipstick. This balm is my absolute favorite (my favorite shade is Lilac, then Pink). It enhances your natural lip color and adds moisture like a dream.
I also like Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment in Petal.
Admittedly, my favorite kind of lipstick to wear is a bold color. I feel like if I’m going to make the effort to wear a lipstick, it might as well make a bit of a statement, right?! I used to love bright pinks, like Urban Decay’s Obsessed, but I tend towards richer tones now. My only go-to for a bold lip is Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci. It is matte, so it tends to get dry, but I just swipe on a lip mask to revive and moisture my lips. I love that it really does stay all day, too.
My go-to for my everyday option is Urban Decay’s Morning After. It’s a sheer formula, so it adds color without feeling dry or looking cakey after awhile. This was the lipstick I wore on our wedding day, too! I wanted to look and feel like myself, which I did. This lipstick is always in my purse because it’s an easy option when I need a little color!
On days when I’m around the house or not wearing lipstick, I’m obsessively applying this lip mask or this lip treatment.

Thanks for the post, awesome suggestions! I'm very fair skinned like you and have a fear of lipstick lol, I'm definitely going to give one if these a try.
Is that darling little gold ring EA or did you buy it somewhere? I feel like I need it!
