Hello, 2018!

Man, I love the start of a new year! It’s like an automatic reset on anything and everything. I tend to purge things from my closet and home, set goals for the new year, and try to start good habits. Admittedly, said goals and habits usually wane by about February 10th, but it’s the intention behind them that truly matters! Business for Elisabeth Ashlie tends to be slow in January, with most people taking a break from shopping after the holidays, so I like to take this time of year to get my accounting in order, reorganize and restock my office, and plan for new products. After the madness that is the holiday shopping season, it’s nice to have a bit of respite to organize my thoughts and prepare for another year!
If history has taught me anything, it’s that I don’t do New Years Resolutions. They just don’t stick with me, I don’t know what it is. I do, though, like to think about practical and easy things that I can do to improve my life. Simple things that I have a genuine desire to do or accomplish.

This year, my simple goals are:

+ to drink the recommended amount of water every day (I’m SO bad at staying hydrated with absolutely no excuses. I’m very serious about this one!)
+ to stay on top of my accounting for my businesses (This is a goal every year. I made it to about June last year, so my goal is to make it PAST June this year πŸ˜‰)
+ to cut down on the mindless scrolling on Instagram (Admittedly, this will be the toughest for me. I use Instagram for my businesses, so I’m sort of required to spend a bit of time on it everyday. I tend to check it a lot during the day, which can turn into a time suck and just isn’t necessary. My goal is to only go on when I need to post a photo or reply to comments and when I have free time in the evening.)
+ to get plugged in socially in our new home (We’re finally feeling settled in our new home, so I’m looking forward to getting more involved in our Church and hopefully meeting some friends!)
While they all seem easy and totally attainable, I’m sure I will have to remind myself of what I set out to do from time to time.
From a blog/Instagram/social media perspective, I would love to know if there’s anything you’d like to see from me this year! I’m looking forward to continuing to share my personal style, beauty and home posts, but am open to what YOU want to read/see, too! After all, you’re the reason that I create the content that I share here. Please leave me a comment or shoot me a quick email if you there’s something you’d like me to cover.
I’m so looking forward to another year together!

Great goals! I got the Slant Confetti Water tumbler for Christmas and it has been so helpful with my goal of drinking more water too! I would love to see more beauty and style posts. I just love your sense of style!

I'm ALWAYS looking for new and interesting things to read and listen to. I have accessed your podcast list multiple times when I am trying to find something new. Also I like to see what other people are cooking for supper or have lying around as snacky things. Its so easy to get into a rut.
Love your new design of the website!

I love your simple style, sharing but not over sharing. Maybe "Spring" closet staples… Including shoes, simple accessories! I know you already put this info out and I enjoy it! I love when bloggers show good finds no matter if its a perfect lipstick color or must try coffee! Happy New Year! πŸ™‚

Oooh I would love to see different recipes you guys make at home or while having company (food and/or cocktails)! And then a recipe exchange in the comments section….or something to that affect πŸ™‚ Also, maybe more collaborating with your sister! Maybe some DIY stuff too? Happy New Year!!

It's always great to have goals to work towards in the new year. I need to drink more water as well. And the funny part is, my office is right across from our water cooler. No excuses here. I get lost in an instagram black hole too and I'm also working on finding more of a balance. Cheers to a new year! Sierra~Beautifully Candid

Could you do a Day in the Life? I'd love to see how you work daily as I also work from home and staying in a routine can be tough! Happy new year!

Oh, staying off of Instagram…I hear you! But it's so easy to go and "check my likes" and then when you look at the clock it's 2 hours later! Hope you manage to do it (I know I can't xD). Have a great day!

Hi! I love your blog and love your business! I really enjoyed your small business series since being full-time with my etsy shop is a big goal of mine. I know it's a fine-line with sharing how you got the success you have but any other tips/tricks for growing your business, or behind-the-scenes you are willing to share would be great. I love day in the life/BTS type of posts anyway. Happy 2018! Lindsay
