i really like the idea of owning a professional (or semi-professional) wardrobe, but it would be entirely impractical for me. for many reasons. not the least of which is that my “fancy” clothes sit in the back of my closet for 362 days of the year, so…yeah, it wouldn’t make any sense.
but! for the days that i do desire a bit more structure and something outside of my regular style, a boyfriend blazer is just the fix. not just any boyfriend blazer though, one that is made from a sweatshirt-like material, just so i don’t get too far away from my comfortable roots 😉
i love how you can use a boyfriend blazer to dress up a more casual outfit – think white denim and tee – or as the final piece to a more dressed up look, like this one. i tend to feel over dressed and a bit out of place when i’m just wearing high heels, so being able to have something that i feel comfortable in paired with those heels helps me to feel more me. and feeling like myself is the most important thing i consider when putting on an outfit. that’s the point of using clothing, accessories, makeup, hair styling products for me – to enjoy the things that i love but still feel like myself, a really fun kind of self-expression.
