i have a tendency to re-organize, re-decorate, and re-think rooms often. i like to keep things fresh and find new ways to use my furniture and decor. it’s cool to see how a room can be transformed just by changing where the furniture is located in the room, too.
i found myself re-arranging our entire living room on New Year’s Day, completely unplanned. with the new year, i’ve felt the need to organize, clean, and purge, so it makes sense that one of the rooms that had been untouched would fall victim to me.
once the work was done, i just sat in the room and couldn’t believe how much bigger it felt. it was like the square footage doubled in size when i was wrangling the couch into its new spot.
the final piece is to get a new, bigger area rug for the room. i’ve had this shag for a few years and, while i love it, i’m looking for something a little different. of course, as soon as i decide that i want to shop for a new rug, all the stores in the tri-state area rid their shelves of anything i’m even remotely interested in, so…it’s a work in progress.

When I first saw the title of this post, I thought it said "living room rodeo" haha. I've seen your mirror gallery wall on insta and have been wondering about it! Want to do something very similar in my bedroom.
Hahah that would've been…interesting! Thanks!
I love this room. I love all the little details. I'm gonna be moving into my own apartment for the first time and I am so excited to start buying furniture and little accessories for the living room. You have great taste! 🙂
Such a fun process – enjoy it!
looks great! so many spot on styling touches!
So great! I love the wall of mirror's and frames – it's a great way to incorporate a gallery style without making the walls feel to heavy!

You have impeccable interior design taste – love the space!
thanks, Karly!
Very cute. I really like the Sam's Club bookshelf. I want it! Ha!
All the mirrors, while it's cute during the day, would FREAK me out at night. I have a thing with mirrors in the dark, I avoid them. It must a Bloody Mary thing or something but I refuse to look into mirrors when there is no light. Yea, I'm weird. Ha!
Always love your home decor posts! 🙂
looks amazing! Are you living alone now or still with roommates? What do you they think when you change the room around?
A gallery wall of mirrors is such a nifty idea! I love the look of gallery walls, but I've been thinking that they might be a bit heavy for my small home. But the way you've done it? That might just be perfect! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous living room with us! http://www.eveslifestyle.com/np1-listing-dept-45240
