as you may know, i’m spending a few days in Raleigh with my sister and nephew this week. i arrived Sunday afternoon to find Kate and David waiting for me at baggage claim. i almost didn’t recognize the little man – he’s so big! it was a nice surprise to see them right when i got off the plane.
apart from it just being really nice to hang with them, it’s so good to be back in the south. i forget how much i love it down here until i return…and then i wonder why i ever left – sunshine, warmth, greenery. ya know, the things that Chicago enjoys for like two weeks out of the entire year. i’ve made it my personal life mission to convince Mike that living down here would be wonderful. the door isn’t completely closed, but i think i need a pretty decent sized bulldozer in order to knock it down, if you know what i’m sayin’.
for now, i’ll enjoy the south from afar and on regular visits until i call it home again (*cough cough* Mike, are you reading this? *cough*)
